Tax Payment Due Dates

 Reference the important dates below and be sure to speak to your tax professional, so you can plan ahead with confidence and keep your finances on track.

If you have a payment due on your 2025 tax return, federal and state payments are due April 15th. Timely tax payments are key to avoiding penalties and staying compliant. If you can't make the deadline, talk to your tax professional about an extension.

Federal Estimate Tax Due Dates

1st Quarter: April 15 (for income earned from January 1 to March 31).
2nd Quarter: June 15 (for income earned from April 1 to May 31).
3rd Quarter: September 15 (for income earned from June 1 to August 31).
4th Quarter: January 15 (for income earned from September 1 to December 31). 

Note: If the due date for making an estimated tax payment falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, the payment will be on time if you make it on the next day that's not a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday.

State Estimate Tax Due Dates

You will need to check with your individual state's tax agency for their specific deadlines, as they might differ from the federal due dates; ie. the tax agency for NYS is NYS Department of Taxation and Finance.
